One thing I love about my job is that no wedding is the same. Haley and Micah’s was no exception! Their wedding was one of my absolute favorite weddings of my spring/summer wedding season! Haley wanted a wedding in the woods that felt special, beautiful, and whimsical and I have to say those visions were captured perfectly.
I’ve known Haley for a really long time, I’m not exactly sure of how long but we grew up at the same church, went to the same high school and ended up at the same college as well. She’s older than me by a few years but she, as well as a few other girls in her circle always made a point to make me feel welcome or like I belonged. When I saw she had gotten engaged, I couldn’t help but reach out to her about helping with her wedding. From the very first meeting, I wanted to be a part of her big day! From our first coffee date, just a few weeks after she got engaged, she had the biggest smile on her face and it never left. No matter how stressful the meetings were or the questions became, Haley’s joy never left her face.
Haley was more excited about marrying Micah than anything else. I think she could have gotten married in a backyard and she still would have carried that joy with her everywhere. Their intimate ceremony in the woods, where her guests sat on benches hand-made by Micah was like nothing I had ever seen. Everyone sat with smiles on their faces, the happiest tears were shed and Haley and Micah had huge smiles on their faces the entire time. They had a private communion led by her aunt with just the two of them and I thought it was so special.
Haley and Micah are two of the sweetest people I have worked with and their love and respect for each other are so genuine. Micah would do anything for Haley and Haley would do anything for Micah; that was evident during the entire planning process. The respect and love they have for each other should have been a hint towards how amazing their guests would be, but I have to admit I was surprised. I never expect much from guests at a wedding, because they are guests and I am the one who should be doing a bulk of the work, along with all of the other wedding vendors. But ya’ll, Haley and Micah have amazing friends and family. It’s been almost 2 months and I still can’t get over how amazing their guests were. They helped me without hesitation, talked to me like a friend instead of a vendor, respected me, made me laugh, and so much more. I was truly amazed at how gracious and loving these people were and if I could thank and hug each of them, I would. But like I said before, I really shouldn’t have been surprised. These people love Haley and Micah so well because of how genuine they are. If there are only a few things I learned from this couple, it’s that they will be loved as one until their days are over, they will have a support system through the difficult times, their families with life them up daily and they will continue to meet amazing people as well as bless the ones around them.
I feel honored to have worked with some amazing photographers this year because not only do they literal capture the vision in photos but they also bring everything to life. Alexa blew me away with these images! I had seen a handful of engagement photos and of course her other work, but when I received the gallery for Haley and Micah’s wedding yesterday, I was blown away and had the hardest time picking my favorites! The God-centered wedding was one of my favorites and I hope to work with these vendors again!!
