Christine and Eric have already been married a month!!! I can’t believe it. Especially after already waiting extra time to get married because of the virus. I should start from the beginning when I met Christine while she was shopping for her bridal dress at Annalise Bridal! I am so lucky to get to meet such amazing brides while working but what’s even better is when I get to continue that relationship and plan their wedding! Christine chose one of my absolute favorite dresses and it was perfect for her wedding dreams. Not only was it one of my favorite dresses, but she had also booked one of my favorite wedding venues in Lexington, VA, Big Spring Farm.
Christine was a delight to work with from day one, she was always checking on ME in every email I sent her about her wedding. She is so kind and beyond grateful for everything! She took each bump in the road like a champ, including the day she picked up her veil. Don’t get me wrong, that’s a super exciting day! Even her sweet pup was so excited- so much so that he excitedly jumped up to greet Christine and ripped the veil. She called the shop laughing about the circumstances and that pretty much describes how she handled everything that could have easily led to a meltdown!
The weather predicted for Christine and Eric’s wedding day was 100% rain with a chance of a break some time between cocktail hour and the reception. We decided to do the rain plan for the ceremony and once again, Christine was completely calm! We set up chair under the veranda, installed her gorgeous floral pieces, and made sure we had everything ready and prayed for a normal rain storm. A normal rainstorm is not what we got. It was a monsoon, truly the rain was coming down so fast and heavy and from all directions. I have delayed ceremonies by 5,10, and 15 minutes but this was the first time I delayed the start of a ceremony by more than 30 minutes solely because there was no way Christine, Eric and their officiant wouldn’t be drenched no matter how much we moved them away from the sides. I’m sure by now you can assume, Christine was calm. She chilled in Remy’s car just waiting for us to tell her when we’d start, guests chatted and not a single person complained, guests who would have missed the ceremony due to an accident on the interstate were able to attend they happily walked down that aisle with the rain coming down and all of their loved ones around them.
The rest of the night went amazing! The food was perfect, the DJ kept everyone entertained, laughing and enjoying themselves until the lights came on! They were so happy to be with all of their friends and family after a long awaited celebration of their love. Christine even managed to get my on the dance floor!
I am so happy for Christine and Eric and am so grateful I was part of their day! Cheers to many many more years!!
