Stephenie and Jacob got married just over 2 months ago but it still feels like last week in the best way possible! I met Stephenie through another friend who happens to also be a vendor in the industry (photography), Allison. She referred Stephenie to me and from our first talk I knew she’d be fun to work with! Our first conversation was through texting because she was still waiting to see if she’d get her ceremony venue (which she did!!) and during our talk, I told her we could have a scheduled phone call within the next week. This is all completely normal and happens often BUT in the text I said “you can give me a call at (xxx)xxx-xxxx while I was texting her from that very same number….needless to say she thought it was funny and we had our phone call!
Stephenie so badly wanted to get married at the University of Richmond chapel, but they have strict rules about who can get married there and when you can even be put on the list! So, we had a potential date, a potential ceremony venue and a potential wedding venue. I told her I would let her know if anyone else wanted her date but that we had to nail down the date before she could book me. Well, the stars aligned and she got the chapel and the reception venue she wanted! We were all thrilled!! I absolutely loved working with Steph for a few reasons. 1. She had basically planned everything before she even reached out to me and knew exactly what she wanted. Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love using my creative brain to help brides but if they already know exactly what they want, they are just as much of an ideal bride! 2. Her friend Allison, who referred her to me is so much fun and ended up being pretty involved in everything too! Since then, Allison and I have gotten closer and we are dying to work together one day! 3. Everyone involved in Steph’s wedding day, I mean everyone, family, friends, vendors…they were all amazing. Everyone was always asking what they could do for each other, so kind, and I don’t think I saw anything but smiling faces!
Once I saw the whole gallery from Steph and Jacob’s wedding, it was so wonderful to see how happy they were on that day for a second time. The genuine joy that spread across their faces all day was such a breath of fresh air. They had been long distance for a while couldn’t wait to finally be in the same state, under the same roof and finally with the same last name. If you’ve ever met Steph, Jacob or both of them, then you know how kind and genuine they are. I can’t wait to see what what the future holds for the two of them!
