I don’t even know where to begin with this one. Firstly, I was honored that Amanda chose me to be her wedding planner. I’ve looked up to her for so long, and I mean like almost a decade. Amanda and I grew up going to church together, her parents were on every mission trip, Amanda always said yes to having the younger ones, (i.e me) as part of her group, table, whatever it may be. I remember a when she came down from Northern VA literally for one night to attend a baby shower I planned for someone else very important to me, and her. She made it work in her plans and we stood around the kitchen counter talking about her hopes with Christian. She talking about hoping he would pop the question soon and I loved hearing her talk about him and about 8 months later he popped the question!!
I was thrilled when I saw the proposal on Instagram and immediately reached out to congratulate her! A few short months later she asked me to be her planner and I enjoyed every step of the planning process. We had many meet ups to discuss her wedding, life in general and so much more…usually at Mellow Mushroom and each time I got more and more excited for her big day! As she started to choose her vendors, the excitement continued to creep up and I constantly told people I couldn’t wait for my Memorial Day weekend bride.
Amanda might be the most organized person I’ve ever met. She had times down to the exact minute, every event had it’s own time, including but not limited to, changing her shoes, giving the band an iPad for the band breaks and the exact time we would load the car with gifts. I don’t mean this lightly when I say, I wish all brides and people in general could be like Amanda. She is organized and know what she wants but she also takes advice and opinions from others with such grace. In fact, I would have to say that Amanda is the epitome of grace which means that her wedding day was absolutely beautiful.
Katelyn and Micheal were the photographers and took all of the stunning pictures below! Tyler and Ashley Herrinton walked along side them as videographers, otherwise known as the dream team! The images, audio and video they capture in every wedding they do always blows my mind and it was no different on Amanda and Christian’s day. They got married at the beautiful Dover Hall in Manakin, VA and it was a gorgeous day…hot, but gorgeous! Rhea of Photosynthesis did the florals and I hope to work with her again soon, because wow, her arrangements were stunning! Everywhere you looked there were flowers, candles and greenery, as well as personal touches of pictures of Amanda and Christian as well as a room that was completely dedicated to other members of their families love stories.
They had a traditional ceremony and Katelyn worked her magic to get the photo Amanda and always dreamed of…her dad walking her down the aisle. The entire day was not only centered around Amanda and Christian but also their friends and family. It was obvious that every single person there wouldn’t just support the two of them on their wedding day but, for the rest of time. There was joy emulating throughout the entire weekend, I felt honored to be a part of their day and see all of Amanda’s dreams come to life. Her pops of blue, glistening candles, and traditional elements all blended so beautifully throughout the mansion.
Amanda and Christian, thank you for entrusting me on the most important day yet. I am honored you chose me to walk along side you and thrilled I could see the two of you become one. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!
This photo is actual gold. If you have stick church rules, hire Katelyn 🙂
