Let me start this off by saying I am by no means a fashion expert. I spent an entire summer not too long ago only wearing neutral colored shorts and switching up my t-shirt every day and I am 100% not ashamed about that!
If you guessed this post was going to be about fashion, you’re right! I feel like I have multiple different versions of me based off how I dress during the week. My personality stays the same whether I’m chatting with a bride, a vendor or a friend, I’m just a little more professional when it comes to work! I can be in workout clothes and a baseball cap at 11 am and by 1 pm be in a dress with a full face of makeup on and I LOVE it!! I feel like most people in this industry love be able to work from home in comfy clothes, with no makeup on, and have all 4 different drinks spread out in front you but when the time rolls around to get dressed up, and you get excited!
I’m going to tell you my 5 favorite wedding weekend clothing items!
I know not all of these are necessarily clothing but I wear them so that counts, right? While setting up, I typically where athletic clothes or something comfortable that I don’t mind getting dirty. You never know if it’s going to be muddy, raining, or unbearably hot. I’ve become a pro at changing really fast and freshening up thanks to setting spray, baby wipes, mini perfumes, and pink lip stain! My go-to colors for jumpsuits and dresses on the wedding day are blue, black, dark green and occasionally a light color. I don’t like to stand out too much at a wedding by dressing in all black or wearing a branded shirt and black slacks but I do want people to know who I am so I can be easily seen!
I try to buy items that are versatile and can be worn for multiple occasions. I make sure I can wear items to Annalise and when doing a wedding. With pants, it’s easier because you can dress those up or down. I’ve purchased jumpsuits and dress with spaghetti straps that I will wear to the bridal shop and then throw on a blazer for weddings. I buy a lot of neutral layers, like cardigans and jackets so I don’t have to think about which one I’ll bring on the wedding day. I am all about functionality, comfortability, and looking professional!
